    Seen on eBay:

Note: I believe this car has either a home-made or much later interior.

    Ad reads:

"I am listing this vehicle for a friend. It is a '61 Jaguar eType XKE. This is a presentable daily driver in need of an engine rebuild.

The 1961 is the first year making it an excellent collector car. This gem is a great value at an excellent reserve which is set very low. (Please do not ask!)

    3.8 Litre 6 Cylinder
    4-Speed Transmission
    Crisp, Clear Glass
    Good Interior
    Wire Wheels

    Solid Body

    California Car

The motor threw a rod and he just does not have the time or resources to deal with it right now. It comes complete and will need just an intake manifold, oil pan and carbs. The transmission is in good shape. There is no rust on the vehicle except a small spot on the license plate area which appears to be poorly repaired. There is also a small dent in the lower left quarter & a few door dings.

THIS CAR IS PRICED THOUSANDS BELOW THE LOW MANHEIM GOLD BOOK!"

Can anyone tell me if this car is still in Sonoma CA? I am the USA co-ordinator for Philip Porters new E-Type club, would love to do an article on it and pictures please.

On my early FHC the tailgate hinges are different and not interchangeable with the later ones as pictured. I suspect this is not an early FHC but a later car. Something is odd, maybe it is 888077

I tend to agree with Maikel:

    - rear lights

    - petrol filler cap

    - Dunlop bellow (instead of Kelsey Hayes)

    - seats

    - grab handle on passenger side

    - fluid bottles

    - and the trunk door hinges of course

    - etc.

are indicating that this is not a flatfloor car.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
