    https://www.manorparkclassics.com/auction/lot/131-1973-jaguar-e-type-22/?lot=635 ...

    Auction description:

    1973 Jaguar E-Type 2+2

Manual gearbox & magnificent V12 power

    Estimate £37,000 - £42,000

     Registration: RLJ 638M

    Chassis: 1S5 020 BW

    Odometer: 55,925

    Transmission: Manual

    MOT: N/A

    Exceptionally rare, UK-supplied, right-hand-drive V12 manual

    Professionally refinished in Signal Red

    Photographic and documented history file

Major service completed January 2025 including timing-belt and water pump

Finished in its unmistakable and highly desirable factory colour combination of Signal Red with Black leather upholstery, this UK-supplied 1973 Jaguar E-Type Series 3 2+2 Fixed Head Coupe with Webasto sunroof represents an increasingly rare opportunity to acquire a lovely example of one of Britain’s most iconic grand tourers. First registered on 25th September 1973, this late Series 3 combines the effortless performance of Jaguar’s legendary 5.3-litre V12 engine with the added practicality and refinement of the sought-after 2+2 configuration. Paired with a manual gearbox, it delivers the smooth, torquey driving experience for which the V12 E-Type has become so revered.

Having had just seven former keepers, the current owner has enjoyed the car since 2022. The car is understood to have undergone a comprehensive restoration in 1989, supported by extensive invoices and a detailed photographic record documenting the bare metal renovation and repaint carried out at c.51,000 miles. Today, the car presents exceptionally well, with a wonderfully honest character and an attractive patina throughout. Particularly noteworthy is what we believe to be the original Black leather interior, which remains in place and lends the car a level of authenticity and charm that is often lost in over-restored examples.

Mechanically, the car has benefitted from significant recent expenditure totalling more than £3,428 in 2025. Works completed include routine servicing alongside replacement belts, inspection and refurbishment of fuel lines and pumps, carburettor attention, as well as power steering and exhaust work, ensuring the car remains enjoyable and usable on modern roads. It rides on a matching set of Michelin Latitude Cross tyres and has clearly benefitted from careful dry storage throughout its life, contributing to the impressive overall preservation of the car.

Accompanying the vehicle is an extensive history file containing invoices, previous MOT certificates dating back to 1982, and restoration photographs, offering excellent provenance and insight into the car’s long-term care. On the road, the E-Type is reported to drive exactly as a well-sorted V12 example should, smooth, refined and effortlessly capable, with immense presence wherever it goes. A rare chance to acquire a highly original Series 3 E-Type in arguably its most desirable factory colour scheme, combining strong history, recent mechanical investment and enormous scope either to enjoy immediately or develop further into a concours-standard example.
