For sale is our 1974 Jaguar E-type V12 4-speed manual Roadster! Owned by its current owner for the last 38 years, the car has undergone over $75,000 in documented maintenance over its life. It has been driven well but sparingly logging just 5,000 miles since most of the overhaul work that was completed in the 90's.

In 2019, a large mechanical investment was made to ensure its reliability and road worthiness and is more or less how you see it today. It's a great driver's quality car that fires right up and drives wonderfully with the epic V12 + 4-speed pairing. The thermostats were both replaced in preparation of sale along with a paint correction.

Highlights of the more major work are below. The car comes with all of its work documented since 1988. All the engine and powertrain components are original to the car.

This 1974 Jaguar E-Type Series III roadster was recently imported to the US by the selling dealer following registration history with the previous owner in Canada since 1988. Refurbishment work completed in 1995 consisted of body repairs before the car was refinished in Regency Red and rebuilds of the 5.3-liter V12 and four-speed manual transmission. In 2019, servicing included replacing the battery, alternator, radiator hoses, valve cover gaskets, and fuel pump and tank, and installing a stainless-steel exhaust system, while the quad carburetors were rebuilt in preperation for the sale. It features 15” wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, a black soft top, and a black leather interior. This Series III E-Type is now offered by the selling dealer, a BaT Local Partner, with service records and a Washington State title.

The car was refinished in Regency Red in 1995 following rust remediation that included replacing the floor pans and rear frame boxes and repairing the rocker panels. The black soft top is torn.

The 15″ wire-spoke wheels are fitted with faux knock-off spinners and are mounted with Michelin Xz4 tires. The Series III E-Type was factory-equipped with power steering, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted rear rotors. In May 2019, the brake booster and master cylinder were replaced. The selling dealer notes corrosion on the wheels.

The cabin features seating surfaces upholstered in Black leather as well as a push-button AM-FM stereo. The air conditioning does not work.

The three-spoke steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline. An analog clock along with auxiliary gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level are mounted in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 80k miles, approximately 5k of which were added under current ownership.

The 5.3-liter V12 was factory-equipped with quad Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and was rated at 241 net horsepower and 285 lb-ft of torque when new. An engine rebuild in 1990 included honing the block, resurfacing the cylinder heads, and replacing the valves, main bearings, piston rings, and timing chain. The battery, alternator, radiator hoses, valve cover gaskets, and fuel pump and tank were replaced in 2019, at which point a Bell stainless-steel exhaust system was installed, and in preperation for the sale, the carburetors were rebuilt, and the ignition system and thermostat were replaced.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission that was rebuilt in 1990 along with a limited-slip differential.
