This 1973 Jaguar E-Type Series III roadster was acquired by the seller in 2002, and in 2024, an overhaul of the 5.3-liter V12 began that included rebuilding the quadruple carburetors, installing an aluminum radiator and expansion tank, and replacing various components. Work over the last two years has totaled ~$30k and also involved replacing the springs and shocks. Finished in Old English White with a black soft top, the car features 15” knock-off wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, a four-speed manual transmission, and a limited-slip differential, while the black leather interior is equipped with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, air conditioning, and an AM/FM radio. This Series III E-Type is now offered with service records, parts invoices, spare wheels, and a clean New Jersey title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in Old English White and features a black soft top, uncovered headlights, US-spec bumpers, and a forward-hinged louvered hood. The seller notes the body was repainted and the left door was repaired under previous ownership, and they recommend replacing the soft top.

The 15″ knock-off wire-spoke wheels are mounted with Pirelli P400 Super Touring tires. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted rear rotors, and the Series III E-Type was factory-equipped with power steering. The springs and shocks were replaced in November 2024.

The cabin is trimmed in black leather, and it features air conditioning and a push-button AM/FM radio. The driver-seat bracket is broken.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline. An analog clock along with auxiliary gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level are mounted in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 34k miles, approximately 6k of which were added under current ownership.

The 5.3-liter V12 was factory-equipped with quadruple Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and was rated at 241 net horsepower and 285 lb-ft of torque when new. An overhaul of the engine between 2024 and 2025 included rebuilding the carburetors, repairing the carburetor linkage and hood hinge, adjusting the timing and valves, cleaning the fuel tank, installing an EGR valve adapter and an aluminum radiator and expansion tank, and replacing the fuel pump, fuel lines, hoses, water pump, V-belts, timing chain tensioners, air pump feed line, and the right-side valve cover gasket.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.

Four additional wire wheels with a mixed set of tires will accompany the car.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
