This 1971 Jaguar XKE Series II roadster was acquired by the current owner in 1993 and subsequently underwent a repaint in light blue and a re-trim in dark blue leather as part of a refurbishment completed by Sun Valley Classics of Tempe, Arizona, in 1995. The car is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six equipped with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, while shifting is through a four-speed manual transmission linked with a limited-slip differential. The roadster wears a blue soft top and is accompanied by a black-finished removable hardtop. It is further equipped with a louvered clamshell hood, four-wheel disc brakes, and 15″ wire wheels along with a wood-rimmed steering wheel, air conditioning, and an AM/FM radio. This XKE roadster is now offered on dealer consignment by K2 Motorcars—a BaT Local Partner—with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, refurbishment photographs, partial records, and a clean Florida title.

The car was repainted in its factory light blue finish by Sun Valley Classics in Tempe, Arizona, as part of the aforementioned 1995 refurbishment. It wears a blue soft top and is accompanied by a black-finished removable hardtop. Further details include a louvered clamshell hood, sealed-beam open headlights, wraparound chrome bumpers, and dual exhaust outlets.

The 15″ wire wheels are secured by three-eared knock-offs and are mounted with 185-width Vredestein tires. The car is equipped with power steering, while braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors. Work in 2020 involved servicing the steering system as well as replacing the brake master cylinder and booster.

The bucket seats were rebuilt and reupholstered in Dark Blue leather by XK’s Unlimited of San Luis Obispo, California, in 2004, and are accompanied by a color-coordinated center console, door panels, and carpets. A push-button AM/FM radio is connected to speakers in the footwells on either side of the center stack, and further appointments include air conditioning, a sliding rear-view mirror, and a locking glovebox.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline as well as an analog clock and gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 28k miles, approximately 17k of which were added under current ownership.

The 4.2-liter inline-six was factory equipped with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and rated at 245 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque when new. The engine oil was last changed in 2020, at which time the temperature sender and exhaust manifold fasteners were replaced.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The transmission was resealed in February 2022.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace Certificate lists the factory colors and powertrain numbers as well as a November 3, 1970 dispatch date.

A composite image of various identifications markings is included. Chassis number 2R14790 is prepended by the letter “P,” which indicates that the car was specified from the factory with power steering.
