Car started through assembly 10/8/62 (Build check off book was under the gas tank) It has 52K miles and hasn't been licensed or driven since 1974. Complete except for air cleaner assembly and ww washer bottle. Very little rust

Jaguar Land Rover Classic Deutschland GmbH (previously said to be in Freeport, Illinois)
Chassis number 887237
E-Type Series 1 FHC with a 3.8-liter engine in absolute concours condition with matching numbers - air conditioning and 5-speed gearbox
Restored to the highest standard with matching numbers. Additionally, during the restoration, we custom-fitted the car with discreetly integrated air conditioning, the Jaguar Classic 5-speed gearbox, and historically accurate 6 x 15-inch Competition Curley Hub Wire Wheels with 205 tires.
This ensures comfortable interior temperatures even on long summer drives and reduces engine speed on the motorway, while providing crisp and short gearing in the lower four gears.
The chassis number, engine number, and gearbox number, as well as the original Moss box, match the Heritage Certificate exactly. The Opalescent Dark Blue color combination with a red interior is a perfect match, looks stunning, and has all the right qualities. Authentic, elegant, sporty, and cool.
This E-Type was born on October 17, 1962. It left the Jaguar factory on December 4, 1962, and was shipped to the USA, to New York. America didn't have any serious sports cars of its own, loved the E-Type, and had deep pockets. As a result, almost 70% of left-hand drive E-Types were sold in the USA.
In 2021, this E-Type was discovered in incredible condition. It boasts matching numbers, a very solid body, and all the essential chrome trim. Due to its excellent condition, a nut-and-bolt restoration was a natural next step. This restoration took 1.5 years and 2,300 hours of work by our experts.
Every single screw was meticulously examined, all cavities were opened, and only irreparable body panels were professionally cut out and replaced. Great care was taken to ensure the work was carried out exactly as the Jaguar factory did in 1962. All welds are correct, every detail is in its proper place, and only tin, rather than body filler, was used for the surfaces – a technique mastered and practiced by only a few specialists today. The panel gaps, the surfaces, and the flat body panels speak for themselves. Two coats of clear lacquer were applied and then sealed with ceramic.
The E-Type was originally delivered in Cream with a Red interior. We opted for an authentic 1962 factory color combination. Opalescent Dark Blue was only available from the factory for the 3.8-liter E-Type until June 1964.
The engine was tested on a dynamometer before being installed in the E-Type. After the complete restoration was finished, we conducted extensive test drives before handing the car over to its current owner. In the meantime, this beautiful coupe has been driven a total of 1,480 km. It's therefore like new and perfectly broken in. This E-Type offers you top quality, enhanced comfort thanks to the air conditioning and 5-speed gearbox, and exceptional driving pleasure.
A dream car in the 1960s, just as it is today.
