Pre-63 Jaguar E-type

Fresh HTP until 2036

Race-ready for Goodwood, Le Mans, Spa and many more events

This particular example was built in December 1961 before being exported to Canada. It then returned to UK to become a seasoned veteran in historics since the nineties. It boasts continuous Le Mans Classic appearances from 2004 to 2018, claimed rostrums in the Members’ Meeting at Goodwood in 2012 and 2014, and also ran competitively in the Spa Six Hours. Its most recent results are quite impressive, as in 2024, it took first in class 2b of the RAC Pall Mall Cup and the Spa Six Hours – having qualified 16th overall in a field littered with GT40s – while claiming third in class in the Silverstone round of Equipe Pre-63. A year later, it went two better by netting the class win, while in MRL Pre-63 it was usually the fastest E-type on track and again came first in class 2b. With its trimmed black aluminium passenger seat and seat belts, it also perfect for historic rallying and Peter Auto’s Tour Auto, in which the car has a history of competing.

The engine with a matching-numbers cylinder head and an Arrow billet crankshaft is built to endurance spec and has seen a full rebuild by Rob Beere Racing in February 2026, producing 320bhp on the dyno. Compression and leak-down tests are available. Equipped with a TTV double-paddle clutch, it has done two hours of Goodwood testing since the winter refresh before becoming a finisher in the Members’ Meeting Protheroe Cup, with test times that could have put it on the front row. In the summer of 2026, it received a professional respray and with a fresh HTP valid until 2036, this cat is screaming for a new owner!

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
