1961 Jaguar E-Type FHC
Chassis # 885072
As part of an estate collection, we offer a 1961 Series I E-Type Jaguar FHC, with flat floors, which has undergone some interesting changes.
This early E Jag appears to have been produced on October 14, 1961.
The original engine, transmission and bonnet have been replaced, a sunroof added, as well as a variety of less critical items. These parts are all long gone.
The bonnet is made out of fiberglass, and the engine is a small block Ford, we think, coupled to an automatic transmission, probably all out of an early Mustang.
The alterations have produced a car which accomplishes the basic automotive expectations. It starts, turns, moves and stops.
We were unable to obtain comprehensive history on this Jaguar or the performed modifications, and bidders will need to refer to our multiple images in order to make value decisions.
885072 will qualify for all vintage racing events.
