Lot #161956

This 1963 Jaguar XKE Series I roadster is powered by a replacement 3.8-liter inline-six linked to a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Finished in Pale Yellow over black leather, the car is equipped with a black soft top, 15″ wire-spoke steel wheels, power-assisted disc brakes, triple windshield wipers, an AM radio, and a heater. The car was refurbished under prior ownership and was acquired by the current owner in 2021. This XKE Series I roadster is now offered in Santa Barbara, California on dealer consignment with a clean Arkansas title.

The Series I E-Types were equipped with covered headlights and taillights mounted above the chrome rear bumpers. This example is finished in Pale Yellow and was refurbished some time ago. Additional equipment includes a black soft top, a louvered clamshell hood, wraparound chrome bumpers, a driver-side mirror, triple windshield wipers, and dual exhaust outlets. A touched-up paint chip is visible on the front valance.

The 15″ wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-offs and are mounted with 185R15 Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors.

The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in black leather along with color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Interior appointments include black vinyl dash trim, a sliding rearview mirror, a push-button AM radio, and a heater.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a Smiths 160-mph speedometer and 6k-rpm tachometer, while auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are located in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 83k miles, approximately 700 of which were added under current ownership.

The replacement 3.8-liter inline-six features triple SU carburetors and was factory rated at 265 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a Moss four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.

The car is titled using engine number R47489 shown on the chassis plate.
