An outstanding example of the iconic E Type Series 1 3.8 Roadster, finished in its original and highly desirable colour combination of Opalescent Gunmetal over Red leather interior, complimented by a Black canvas hood. This is a factory right hand drive, matching numbers UK car, supported by its Jaguar Heritage certificate. Manufactured on 23 October 1963, it represents one of the earliest and purest forms of the legendary E Type.
Purchased by the current owner in 2021, the car has since undergone a comprehensive three year, nut and bolt restoration by leading marque specialists, with over £200,000 invested. The work included a full body rebuild with new panels, professional alignment by R J Panels, and a complete repaint to original specification by Bedworth Classic Cars. Mechanical reassembly was carried out by A J Autocraft, with all major components including engine, gearbox and axle, rebuilt or refurbished. The interior and hood were retrimmed by G B Classic Trim using handcrafted materials to original standards.
The result is a car restored to exceptional, near new condition with just 100 miles covered since completion. Subtle upgrades have been incorporated to enhance usability including power steering, upgraded brakes and adjustable suspension, all while maintaining the car's original character and integrity. Powered by the renowned 3.8 litre in line six engine producing 265bhp, it offers thrilling performance, advanced engineering and timeless design. Regarded as one of the most beautiful cars ever made, the Series 1 roadster remains a sought after and collectible variant.
