The example offered for sale is a 1972 2+2 Coupé equipped with an automatic transmission. Originally delivered to the U.S. market, this Jaguar was subsequently converted to European specifications, allowing it to regain an appearance more in line with the models sold on our continent. Its combination of black exterior and red interior gives this E-Type a particularly elegant presence. The overall condition is very appealing, both on the exterior and inside the cabin, highlighting the timeless lines designed by Malcolm Sayer.
This Jaguar also comes with a comprehensive file of invoices covering the period from 2022 to 2025, representing a total investment of nearly €33,000. In 2022, major work was performed on the rear suspension, including the replacement of the silent blocks and tie rods, as well as the rear shock absorbers. The braking system was also upgraded, including the replacement of the master cylinders and a complete bleed of the front and rear circuits. That same year, the left-side manifolds and a complete stainless steel exhaust system were installed, while the door locks were replaced. The year 2023 saw several particularly notable mechanical improvements.
The original Stromberg carburetors were replaced with SU HIF44 carburetors, renowned for their efficiency and ease of adjustment. The car also underwent a conversion to electronic ignition, along with the replacement of the fuel pump and fuel lines. Finally, cosmetic repairs were carried out between 2024 and 2025 to maintain the overall quality of the car’s presentation.
