The Classic Sale at CarFest 2026 - Sunday
1971 Jaguar E-Type Series 3 V12 Coupé - Manual
Registration Number 2885 MC
Chassis Number 1S50285BW
Engine Number 783382SA
Transmission Manual
Body Colour Silver
This home market example, finished in Silver with a black leather interior and a factory-fitted sliding sunroof, was delivered new by Henlys Jaguar of London on 26/10/1971 and shows six owners from new, including former professional golfer and television presenter, Peter Alliss
Power comes from the 5.3-litre V12, factory-fitted with an automatic gearbox before being upgraded in period to the more desirable manual transmission
While subject to a documented restoration in 1990, a comprehensive recommissioning was carried out in July 2020 by Butlin & Sons, respected E-Type specialists, covering the exhaust, cooling and fuel systems, brakes and tyres. Further work followed in March 2025 with Ed Watson & Co, including a full service, a rebuilt cooling system and an overhauled steering rack with the odometer currently displaying 27,408 miles
The history file includes detailed invoices from both specialists totalling in excess of £12,000, along with MOT Certificates dating back to 1987
In conclusion, offered here is a well-sorted and attractive E-Type in it’s final Series 3 form with the desirable combination of a sonorous V12 and manual gearbox
