The rare and exclusive E-Type offered here is one of 50 special V12 roadsters built to commemorate the end of the model's production in 1974. Chassis numbers commenced at '2822' and ended with '2872', all bar one of the 50 cars being finished in black.

This commemorative model has had five owners including the current vendor, the three most recent being members of the same family. The E-Type was used only for pleasure and has always been garaged and maintained. There are bills on file issued by recognised specialists for various works dating back to 2003, including one from Don Law Jaguar Specialists of Stoke-on-Trent for a minor repair after hitting a gate post manoeuvring the car at home (£3,938) and another from Kelbrook Classics of Barnoldswick for new chrome wire wheels in 2023 (£1,678). Also present are other bills relating to general servicing and maintenance. This most collectible of V12 E-Types is offered with current MoT and a V5C document.

Originally registered on 8th November 1974 this E-Type has been much loved and has even changed hands within the same family three times. Presenting well in black with cinnamon interior, this Jaguar has been part of a private collection in recent years. We are advised this Commemorative Edition Jaguar drives well, with no known faults, and it will be presented for an MoT prior to auction. Thought to have been the 29th from last E-Type ever built, this is a great piece of motoring history. Some invoices are present in the history file and the MoT history would indicate the mileage of 39,207 to be correct, although this is not warranted. Supplied with a V5 registration document this rare E-Type demonstrates how the 1974 Commemorative Edition still resonates as a pinnacle of British automotive design. Consigned by Stewart Banks.

Part of a private collection and thought to be the 29th from last E-Type built, this 1974 Jaguar E-Type Commemorative Edition represents a particularly significant chapter in the history of Jaguar's iconic sports car and a fitting finale to one of the most celebrated models in British motoring history. Introduced to mark the end of E-Type production after 13 years, the Commemorative Edition was limited to just 50 examples, based on the Series III V12 Roadster. Finished in the distinctive combination of black paintwork with a cinnamon leather interior, these final cars were created as a fitting celebration of one of Britain's most celebrated sports cars. Most examples were also fitted with a special brass dashboard plaque bearing the signature of Jaguar founder Sir William Lyons, further highlighting their place in Jaguar history.

Power comes from Jaguar's renowned 5.3-litre V12, providing the effortless performance, smoothness and refinement for which the Series III E-Type is renowned. Buyers could specify either manual or automatic transmission, with the manual cars being particularly sought after by enthusiasts and collectors.
