This 1969 Jaguar XKE Series II roadster has been registered in Washington state for much of its life and was purchased by the current owner in 2014. It is finished in Willow Green over black leather and is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six equipped with triple Weber carburetors and linked with a five-speed BorgWarner T5 five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes a black soft top, a louvered clamshell hood, a luggage rack, four-wheel disc brakes, 15″ wire wheels, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and a Retrosound radio. This XKE roadster is now offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner with the owner’s manual, a handwritten mileage log, service records, spare parts, a car cover, and a Washington title in the name of the owner’s living trust.
The car is finished in Willow Green and was repainted in 1997. Prior body filler was removed from the nose in 2007, the area was re-shaped, and the hood was repainted. A replacement black soft top was installed in 2017, and the car is equipped with a luggage rack. A ding on the hood is pointed out by the seller in the gallery, which also contains photos of paint meter readings.
The 15″ wire wheels are secured by earless knock-offs and are mounted with 185VR15 Michelin XVS tires. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors. The brake booster was replaced in 2017 and a replacement master cylinder installed in 2018.
The cabin was reupholstered in 2015, including re-trimming the seats in black leather and replacing the carpets, door panels, and trunk mat. A Retrosound stereo was installed at that time, and a replacement heater core and dash pad were installed in 2019.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline as well as an analog clock and gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The speedometer was replaced in 1997, and the five-digit odometer shows 25k miles, approximately 8k of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 4.2-liter inline-six was fitted with triple Weber carburetors and a Warneford Design intake manifold under prior ownership. The engine was overhauled in 1975, and cylinder head work was performed in 1994. The spark plugs were replaced in 2024, and work in 2026 involved replacing coolant hoses, the exhaust manifold gasket, and fluids. Oil leaks were noted from the rear differential and camshaft covers during an inspection by Britsport of Seattle, Washington, in April 2026, and further notes are viewable in the gallery.
A T5 five-speed manual transmission with overdrive was installed in 1998 and rebuilt in 2002. The car came from the factory with a limited-slip differential.
The car is titled using car number 1R8084 prepended by “J69”. The Washington title lists “Classic” under the brands section.
