This 1970 Jaguar XKE Series II coupe was imported to the UK from the US in 1989. While there it underwent a multi-stage restoration before returning to the US following the current owner’s acquisition in 2020. The car is finished in British Racing Green over light tan leather upholstery and is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes a louvered clamshell hood, 15″ wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, a Moto-Lita wood-rimmed steering wheel, triple Weber carburetors, and a Bosch Dover USB80 stereo. This XKE coupe is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner in Lakeville, Connecticut, with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, an owner’s manual, a tool kit, service records, and a transferable New York registrationThe car was restored in the UK between 1989 and 1993. Work included stripping the vehicle to the bare chassis, fitting floors and sills, applying rust-prevention treatments, and executing a bare-metal repaint in British Racing Green. The exterior features sealed-beam open headlights, a driver-side mirror, wraparound chrome bumpers, bright trim, and dual exhaust outlets. Various exterior chrome parts were replated by A.C.F. Howell in 2019. A ding is noted on the hood bulge.Originally Cinnamon, the cabin features bucket seats upholstered in tan leather, accompanied by a color-coordinated center console, door panels, and carpets. The interior was re-trimmed during the build, and appointments include a heater and a retro-style Bosch Dover USB80 stereo system linked to classic-car-style slim loudspeakers installed in 2020. The transmission tunnel and rear floors are lined with aluminized fiberglass heat shielding. The 4.2-liter inline-six was rebuilt during the initial 1993 refurbishment phase by Vintage Sports E-Engines, and tuned with triple 45 DCOE Weber carburetors on a rolling road in 1995. A bottom-end rebuild was completed by Rob Beere Racing in 2011, which included re-boring and re-facing the block, installing 9.1:1 AE pistons, a crank rear lip seal conversion, ARP head studs and con-rod bolts, and a spin-on oil filter conversion. A Facet Red Top electronic fuel pump and a Filter King regulator were installed in 2019. Additional equipment includes an ITG race-style air filter, black silicone water hoses, and a Denso high-torque starter. Service in 2026 by Wheels of Time in Pine Plains, New York, included adjusting the carburetors, changing the oil, and installing an aluminum radiator and fan cowl assembly. Subsequent service by Autogalerie Automotive Services resolved a no-crank issue by extracting a crushed centering dowel, modifying the starter mounting hardware with flanged metric bolts, and adjusting a binding throttle linkage.
