This 1970 Jaguar XKE Series II coupe is said to have been delivered new to a dealership in Los Angeles, California, and remained with its original owner until the current owner’s acquisition in 2024 following a claimed 45 years in storage. A subsequent refurbishment performed at a cost of over $68k involved a repaint in white, an interior re-trim in black leather, an engine rebuild, and more as detailed below. The car is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six fitted with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, while shifting is through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. It rides on 15″ knock-off wire wheels and is further equipped with four-wheel disc brakes. Inside, a wood-rimmed steering wheel is accompanied by a heater, air conditioning, and a Phillips radio. The car underwent a color change to silver prior to the current owner’s acquisition and was subsequently repainted in its current white finish. Additional work at that time involved replacing the glass and associated rubber seals as well as rebuilding the windshield wiper motor. Exterior details include a louvered clamshell hood, a driver-side mirror, wraparound chrome bumpers, and dual exhaust outlets.

The 15″ knock-off wire wheels are secured by three-eared knock-offs and are mounted with Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. The five-digit odometer shows 58k miles, approximately 300 of which were added under current ownership.

The 4.2-liter inline-six was factory equipped with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and rated at 246 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque when new. Work performed as part of the engine rebuild completed in the course of the refurbishment project is noted to have included the following:

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential and 3.50:1 gearing. The rear axle cradle mounts and torque arm bushings were replaced at the time of the refurbishment along with various exhaust system mounts.
