The exterior is in pristine condition, showing no significant blemishes or signs of wear. Body panels are flush with consistent gaps throughout. While the doors function correctly, the passenger door seals are quite firm, requiring a heavy hand to close. The boot lid springs are a little weak, but the bonnet remains faultless in both operation and alignment.
The underside is structurally sound, featuring a solid floorpan treated with protective inhibitor. Both the suspension mounts and jacking points are in good health with no noted defects. The engine bay, boot floor, and wheel wells are in excellent condition.
We've highlighted in more detail our observations through our high-resolution images and videos, so please take time to look through all the media files for a detailed view of what’s on offer, and for you to assess the condition of the car for yourselves.
Paint
The paint finish has an excellent lustre and consistent coverage. We couldn’t find any paint flaws or any significant marks on the finish.
The images are taken from a few different angles to show off the car as you would see it if you were standing there for yourselves. So please take the time to fully assess these high-resolution images and videos of the car, for you to make up your own minds about the condition of the paint.
Glass and Trim
The windscreen shows some lamination damage, and there are minor chips visible along the upper edge of the passenger door glass. The seals are all in good shape.
The exterior trim is securely mounted, and free of pitting. The lights and lenses are clear and present very well. The bumpers complement the excellent exterior presentation; they are in immaculate condition, having been replaced in 2020 at a documented cost of £2,400.
The seats are in excellent shape with decent cushioning.
The carpets are cleanly presented and free of dampness.
The boot trim presentation suggests minimal use.
Dashboard
The dashboard and centre console are free of any signs of age, with no marks or significant wear noted on the padding, facia, switches, controls or dials. All are said to operate as they should.
Roger told us that the clock was recently replaced.
The door cards, headlining and trim are in excellent shape.
The engine starts promptly with the use of the choke and maintains a smooth idle free of any abnormal noises. The exhaust smoke is minimal, showing only minor cold-start condensation, and the car remained leak-free throughout our visit. No warning lights are present on the dashboard.
The engine bay is in good order, featuring decent hoses and ancillaries despite minor age-related storage wear on some metal components. A significant mechanical upgrade was completed in 2019 at a cost of £4,500, which included the installation of a Triple 2” SU manual-choke carburettor, a new inlet manifold and the correct air filtration system.
The gearbox provides a smooth, mechanical feel with slick gear changes and a light, responsive clutch. The entire clutch assembly was fully renewed in 2016, which included a refaced flywheel and the installation of a new master cylinder.
The suspension performs confidently, absorbing road imperfections without any negative feedback. All components are in good condition, following a comprehensive 2016 overhaul that included professional powder coating and electroplated treatments.
The braking system operates flawlessly, free of any judder or vibration. While the discs show minor surface ageing due to limited use, this is purely cosmetic and does not affect performance. The entire system benefited from a full overhaul in 2016.
