This 1967 Jaguar XKE Series I 2+2 coupe underwent periods of refurbishment work prior to 2024 that involved rebuilding the 4.2-liter inline-six, performing bodywork, and repainting the car. The project would stall, and work following the current owner’s 2024 acquisition involved re-trimming the front seats in black, refurbishing the instrumentation, and replacing the spark plugs and exhaust manifold. The engine is fitted with an aluminum radiator and is backed by a four-speed manual transmission. Other details include halogen headlights, 15″ wire-spoke wheels, power-assisted disc brakes, and a heater. This XKE Series I 2+2 coupe is now offered on dealer consignment with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, refurbishment records, and a California title.
Compared to the contemporary coupe, the 2+2 version of the XKE featured a lengthened wheelbase and increased roof height to accommodate a pair of rear seats. This example left the factory finished in Pale Primrose. The car was stripped and refinished during the refurbishment work under prior ownership, which also involved repairing areas of rust as well as repairing and replacing sheet metal, including the rear fenders. Equipment includes halogen headlamps, a louvered clamshell hood, wraparound chrome bumpers, rear vent windows, a side-hinged rear hatch, and dual exhaust outlets. A paint bubble on the hood is noted.
Wire 15″ wheels are secured by two-eared knock-offs and are mounted with Michelin X tires. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors. The selling dealer notes that the suspension was fitted with replacement bushings in 2025.
The 2+2 cabin features front seats retrimmed in black vinyl, while the rear seats are upholstered in color-coordinated leather. Wear on the rear seats is shown in the gallery below. Appointments include black vinyl dash trim, a center console, and a heater.
The reproduction wood-rimmed steering wheel frames instrumentation that was refreshed in 2025. A Smiths 160-mph speedometer and 6k-rpm tachometer are complemented by auxiliary gauges located in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 34k miles, approximately 200 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 4.2-liter inline-six features triple SU carburetors and was rebuilt in 2003. The exhaust manifolds were sourced by SNG Barratt, and the engine is fitted with an aluminum radiator with electric fans.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a full-synchromesh four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Refurbishment work involved rebuilding the differential, replacing rusted floors and performing other rust repairs, and replacing portions of the frame rails.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace certificate shows the original colors and drivetrain numbers as well as the build and dispatch dates.
