Car now offered at

12th Sep, 2026 Pace of Autumn; Ascot Racecourse

1966 Jaguar E-Type Series I 2+2 (4.2-litre)

Estimate £24,000 - £29,000

Registration: KYR 444D

Chassis No: 7E52296-9

Odometer: 30,413

Just two owners from new, the current since 1986

Resided on the Isle of Wight for 40+ years

Heritage Certificate confirming matching numbers

This 1966 Series I 2+2 presents an unusually appealing combination of originality, long-term ownership and low mileage. Finished in the iconic combination of Primrose Yellow over a black interior, this highly original example has covered just 30,000 miles from new.

The car was originally purchased in London by its first owner, who subsequently took the Jaguar with him to the Isle of Wight upon retirement. In 1986, the current owner, himself a lifelong resident of the island, purchased the E-Type privately from its original custodian. It has remained in his care ever since, meaning just two owners have enjoyed this wonderful Jaguar from new. Remarkably, since 1986 the car has left the Isle of Wight on just one occasion. Today, the E-Type presents as a highly original and wonderfully honest example. The Primrose Yellow paintwork is excellent overall, while the black interior retains a particularly pleasing patina that suits a car with such a long and uninterrupted ownership history. The Jaguar Heritage Certificate confirms the car retains its matching numbers engine, further enhancing its appeal.

The comprehensive history file includes invoices dating back to at least the 1970s, together with the Heritage Certificate, original Jaguar Owner’s manual and handbook, and various other interesting period documents. Having spent four decades with its current owner, this is clearly a car that has been cherished rather than simply owned. Its low mileage, exceptional provenance, originality and wonderfully authentic presentation make it an extremely appealing example of one of Jaguar’s most celebrated designs. The vendor will undoubtedly be very sad to see the E-Type leave his ownership, but this represents a rare opportunity to acquire a genuine 30,000-mile, two-owner Series I 2+2 with a fascinating history and bags of character. We feel this is a car that offers excellent value and deserves to be cherished by its next custodian. Consigned by Fraser Smith
