This Jaguar E-Type Series 1 4.2 Fixed Head Coupe is reported to remain in very impressive condition following an extensive programme of restoration 25 years ago.   

Under the long, curvaceous bonnet is a 4.2-litre straight-six, producing around 265hp which drives the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission. 

The car has been owned by the same enthusiast custodian since 2003. 

The odometer indicates 6,837 Km, though this is not warranted.  

Registered in Sweden since 1989.

Equipment and features

The E-Type is presented in the classically handsome combination of red, over a cream leather-trimmed interior with a black dashboard and chrome accents. 

It rides on a set of 15-inch chrome wire wheels with twin-eared Jaguar-branded knock-offs, fitted with Firestone Deluxe Champion Radial tyres with whitewall detail. 

Equipment includes toggle switches, Smiths instrument dials and auxiliary gauges, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, Lucas hazard warning light system, Jensen radio with Concord speakers, black lap belts, chrome luggage sliders and adjustable luggage retention bulkhead. 

The Jaguar is accompanied by a spare wheel, a Thor knock-off mallet, and a retro-style leather suitcase.  

Condition

The most recent inspection test was on 22 April 2022, which resulted in a pass with no advisories.   

Service history

The seller states that the car has been regularly serviced in the most recent ownership, but there is no accompanying service history. 

The car was last serviced two years ago including an engine oil change. 

The clutch and exhaust system were renewed 10 years ago.
