Auction description:
The Iconic Sale at the NEC Classic Motor Show 2025
Lot Number 237
JAGUAR E-Type Series 1.5 FHC
Registration Number 99 VKX
Chassis Number 1E21724
Transmission Manual
Body Colour Carmen Red
Offered here at the NEC is a delightful, home-market, right-hand drive Series I.5 Fixed-Head Coupé, originally supplied by Henlys Ltd of London to Superspeed Conversions of Ilford. First registered in February 1968, it is finished in its original colour way of Carmen Red with matching red leather upholstery, carpets and trim, and presents well throughout. Documents within the history file note that the previous owner, a retired Jaguar technician, maintained the car fastidiously for almost 20 years and, since acquisition by our vendor in June 2021, it has remained unused, albeit professionally stored, within a private collection of notable landmark classics.
It's accompanied by a detailed history file including a Jaguar Heritage Certificate, old registration documents, old MOT Certificates, a wealth of invoices for ongoing maintenance over the years and an owner’s manual. The registration 99 VKX will form part of this sale and remain on the car.
As a usable and highly rewarding collector’s car, the E-Type offers an ownership experience that few others can match. Supported by a world-class network of specialists and readily available parts, these cars are relatively simple to maintain and enjoy. With its combination of timeless design, genuine performance and effortless touring capability, this example represents an opportunity to own one of the all time greats, a car that will always draw admiration and deliver immense satisfaction, whether at classic events, on spirited drives, or simply admired at rest.
