History - Factory Right hand Drive, this car was manufactured on the 21st of January 1965 and sold new in Hong Kong by Gilman & Co, Hong Kong. Chassis 1E 20210 / Engine 7E 2417-8 / Body Number 4E 20772 / Gearbox EJ1478 - Jaguar Heritage Certificate Available.
Restoration - As one may see from photos, this car is absolutely stunning with the added benefits of a power steering and air condition. Good enough to be a daily driver if you have the stomach to drive it daily.
The engine is smooth with no unduly noises. In fact, the 4.2ltr combined with that full synchro gearbox is just magic.
Mechanically - Engine runs well. Good oil pressure and compressions. Gearbox smooth as silk. Clutch is very well balanced.
Body and Paint - Beautiful Colour Combo - Opalescent Dark Green with now Biscuit Leather (originally black) on Chrome Wire wheels. Everything pretty much in perfect order and hard to find better.
Door / Windscreen Rubber like new all round.
Chrome is like new.
Interior is perfect and a beautiful place to be. Hood lining, dashboard, door cards, upholstery, carpets - all ten out of ten.
Electrical - looks like a complete new wiring loom was also fitted during restoration. All instruments work as they should.
Comes complete with Five Wire wheels, Thor Hammer, Jack, Original Certificate Of Registration, and Heritage Certificate.
Odometer in Miles.
To put value in perspective, it’s what’s under the skin that’s important.
There are lots of cars out there that have had a cosmetic job and make look beautiful but have not had the attention to detail that’s gone into this restoration. Since then, always garaged and only used in the dry.
This car was totally rebuilt by a specialist garage in Christchurch. Although no physical records are available, it had a body off nut and bolt restoration.
This is a classic that will only rise in value - a very good and driveable investment for the future.
A good example like this one will provide years of motoring Nirvana.
Car will be sold WOF'd and Registered IF sold in New Zealand.
