HERE IS THE PERFECT PLACE TO START IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A E TYPE COUPE. THIS CAR IS AN UNMOLESTED ORIGINAL CALIFORNIA XKE SERIES 3 V-12 COUPE. IT HAS BEEN IN STORAGE SINCE ITS LAST CALIFORNIA REGISTRATION (CALIFORNIA 1989 ON CALIFORNIA BLUE PLATES) THAT'S ABOUT 16+ YEARS OF GARAGE TIME. ONLY 88K ORIGINAL MILES. THE VEHICLE RUNS AND DRIVES. FACTORY WIRE WHEELS. ORIGINAL INTERIOR (2 LEATHER REPLACEMENT PATCH PANELS ON THE DRIVER'S SEAT). VIRTUALLY 100% COMPLETE. FACTORY A/C. TAN EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR. FUEL LINES CLEANED AND NEW FUEL PUMP INSTALLED. CAN MAKE AND SEND MPEG OF THE VEHICLE RUNNING/DRIVING. THIS IS AN EXCEPTIONALLY SOLID JAG. THIS CAR EVEN HAS THE CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROL INSPECTION STICKER ON THE WINDSHIELD FROM 1975. THIS IS A NATURAL CALIFORNIA CAR, AND THE BODY'S FABULOUS SOLID CONDITION IS A TESTAMENT TO THAT.

BECAUSE THIS CAR WAS STORED FOR SUCH A LONG PERIOD OF TIME, I AM ADVERTISING IT AS REQUIRING COMPLETE RESTORATION. FOR DRIVER QUALITY, I DOUBT YOU'D REALLY HAVE TO DO TOO MUCH TO IT............DEPENDING ON YOUR PERSONAL TASTES. BUT IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A CONCOURS CAR, THEN THIS IS JUST A GOOD STARTING POINT.

THE GOOD STUFF:

FANTASTICALLY SOLID. NO STRUCTURAL WORK TO BE DONE ANYWHERE I CAN SEE. PRETTY STRAIGHT BODY.........THE BIGGEST DENT I SEE IS ABOUT A FIFTY CENT PIECE'S SIZE. VIRTUALLY COMPLETE. MOST COMFORTABLE AND DESIREABLE OF ALL THE E SERIES COUPES. WIRE WHEEL OPTIONED. AIR CONDITIONING EQUIPPED. LOVELY COLOUR COMBINATION. EXCELLENT DASH, GAUGES, INSTRUMENTS, CONSOLE. THIS CAR HAS NOT BEEN MOLESTED.......ORIGINAL INTERIOR (EXCEPT FOR TWO LEATHER REPLACEMENT PANELS ON THE DRIVER SEAT BOTTOM). STAMPED STYLE STAINLESS EXHAUST PIPES. ENGINE AND TRANS SEEM TO SOUND FINE.



THE NOT SO GOOD STUFF:

THE CAR NEEDS PAINT. IT LOOKS VERY PRESENTABLE FROM 20 FEET. CLOSER THAN THAT AND MANY FLAWS ARE NOTICEABLE. THE FRONT SEAT LEATHER IS VERY DRY AND HAS NUMEROUS CRACKS. THE TWO FRONT BUCKETS HAVE BEEN DYED UNTIL THEY CAN BE RECOVERED. THE WORST SPOT OF RUST IS ON THE BASE OF THE HATCH WINDOW. IT IS SHOWING ABOUT THE SIZE OF A DIME. THE CHROME IS INCONSISTANT. IN SOME SPOTS IT IS QUITE GOOD AND IN OTHERS, IT IS VERY BAD. THE WORST ARE THE BUMPER BLADES. MANY LIGHTS AND ELECTRICAL ARE NOT FULLY FUNCTIONING AND WILL REQUIRE SOME INVESTIGATION TIME AT LEAST. A COUPLE OF THE WIRE WHEEL SPOKES ARE BROKEN. DRIVER'S WINDOW HAS SOME SCRATCHES. REAR WINDOW CHROME TRIM CAPS ARE WITH THE CAR BUT NEED TO BE INSTALLED. FUEL PUMP IS NEW AND WORKS FINE, BUT IS NOT OE. BRAKE SYSTEM OPERATES, BUT HAS BEEN SITTING FOR A LONG TIME, SO SERVICE WILL BE MANDATORY. SINCE THIS CAR HAS BEEN SITTING, A TUNE UP AND CARB REVIEW WILL CERTAINLY BE NECESSARY, PRESENTLY RUNNING EXTREMELY RICH. THE TIRES ARE REAL OLD ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT DUNLOP ELITES, BUT ARE MUCH TOO OLD TO USE. THE CAR SMOKES FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AFTER IT WARMS UP..........THERE MUST BE A LEAKY SEAL ON THE ENGINE/TRANS CAUSING THIS. THE CAR NEEDS A HEADLINER. IT APPEARS TO HAVE ONE PAINT JOB OVER THE ORIGINAL (same colour).

WHAT'S MISSING OR NOT WORKING:

THE RIGHT FRONT SIDE MARKER LENS. THE DRIVER'S DOOR INTERIOR CHROME TRIM STRIP. REAR LICENSE LITES ARE INCOMPLETE, LEFT WINDSCREEN WIPER PIVOT HAS BEEN MODIFIED. OTHER THAN THAT IT IS EXCEPTIONALLY COMPLETE AND ORIGINAL TO MY EYE.

THIS CAR RUNS AND DRIVES. BUT IT HAS BEEN SITTING. ANY CAR THAT HAS BEEN SITTING WILL REQUIRE REVIEW AND PROBABLE REPAIRS TO GET INTO TOP RUNNING CONDITION. I WOULD NOT RECOMMED DRIVING THIS CAR UNTIL SUCH SERVICE IS PERFORMED. I WOULD FIGURE ON TRANSPORTING THE CAR TO YOUR NEW HOME, OR PERFORM FULL SERVICE CHECKUP PRIOR TO COMMENCING ON ANY JOURNEY.
