Ebay item 9/25/09
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-2-2-V-12-1973-Jaguar-E-Type-2-2-V-12-Coupe ...
Current bid $9,900, reserve met 20 bids, 1 day let in auction. 49k miles. Sante Fe, New Mexico
Sellers description:
1973 Jaguar E-Type 2+2 Coupe
5.3 Liter V-12 Engine
Automatic Transmission
This great driving and running car has just come out of long term storage and has been extensively recommissioned. The carburetors were rebuilt, there has been a major tune-up, and all the fluids were changed. The factory Air Conditioner is functioning, and the car runs, shifts, and drives very well.
The work that remains is primarily cosmetic. The paint is showing its age, and was previously re-painted in a slightly lighter than original color. The interior is mostly very good, but the dash top needs replacing, and some small plastic trim pieces are cracked.
Overall this is a great driver, and looks very presentable; a "twenty footer." The car is 99% rust free; the only noticeable area with any rust is the bottom of the heater fan box, which can be easily replaced. The body itself, including the area under the doors, is without rust, and the panels all fit well. There is an area of paint under the right front bumper that has been scraped off on a parking stop. It would be a great candidate for a full restoration, or is very useable as is.
The V-12 engine is very strong, with smooth turbine-like power, even at our 7,000 foot altitude, and the transmission shifts smoothly and at the proper speeds, both upshifts and downshifts. The handling is smooth and secure, and the brakes work properly. The tires do have some small age cracks, and the mileage on the odometer, while believed to be accurate, is listed on the title as "Not Actual Mileage." The title is clear and unbranded, and the car should pass a state safety inspection.
This vehicle has been inspected in our own shop, which is an AAA Approved Auto Repair Facility, by an ASE Certified Master Technician. You may also have an independent inspection performed, either before or after the end of the auction.
