Car to be at auction 8/19
mathewsons.co.uk/auctions/auction-dates/vehicles/11264-1970-jaguar-e-type
Auction description:
1970 Jaguar E Type Series II
The vendor has kindly supplied the following information:
Finished in every popular Old English White with a superb largely original mulberry leather upholstery. Whilst we make no guarantee as to the accuracy of the 97,639 recorded miles the overall condition of the car is commensurate with the mileage. The chromework appears original and whilst not perfect is more than acceptable with the exception of the wire wheels which are below average. The repaint was no doubt carried out many years ago to a good overall standard. Still looks very presentable and shows little sign of deterioration. The engine starts easily, sounds superb and registers excellent oil pressure. Gear selection is precise and smooth. A large history folder includes receipts, MOT history and documents relating to its time in America.
On the market due to the untimely passing of its enthusiastic owner who has undoubtedly derived immense enjoyment during his 20 year ownership.
MOT and just been inspected by a Jag specialist in Kent.

Lot 65 at Hampsons Auction Sale of Classic and Performance Cars at Holywell on 13 May 2023. Sold for £34,875. Amended catalogue description below.
www.hampsonauctions.com/auction/lot/lot65---1970-jaguar-e-type-22-42/
This very tidy Series 2 4.2 litre E Type, chassis number J70P1R43093BW, was manufactured in November 1969. It was immediately exported to the United States and first registered in May 1970, where it remained until repatriated in 1991. It has subsequently been converted to right hand drive, though it retains its original engine intake system of a pair of Stromberg carburettors, as opposed to the triple SUs that were fitted to home market examples. Its white bodywork is complimented by red leather trim and the Jaguar rides on chrome wire wheels.
The car has recently been treated to a new battery and stainless steel exhaust system and had its alternator refurbished. The vendor regards the engine, automatic transmission, 2+2 bodywork and paintwork as all being in good condition, and the upholstery as average. CAU61H is now being sold complete with push button radio, handbook and a collection of receipts. The indicated mileage is an unwarranted but totally credible 97,698 miles.
