    Car was at auction 2/12
    www.historics.co.uk/previous-auctions/18th-february-2012/1962-jaguar-e-type-seri ...

    Auction description:
    Auction Date: 18 February 2012
    Lot 252 - 1962 Jaguar E-Type Series I Coupé Competition
    Registration: 854 UXE
    Chassis Number: 887157
    Engine Number: tbc
    Odometer reading: tbc
    Estimate: £60,000-£75,000
    Hammer: Not Sold

This extremely well built long distance, fully race prepared E-Type coupé has been the subject of a complete rebuild. The engine makes use of Carrillo con rods, lightweight race pistons, gas flowed big valve cylinder head, full race cam shafts (the engine is safe to rev to 7000rpm) and a lightweight flywheel and indeed has not being used since being rebuilt.

Other race modifications include Rob Beere adjustable torsion bars, fully aeroquipped fuel, oil and brakes pipes and an aluminium foam filled endurance fuel tank with large Monza filler. A brand new FIA approved Heywood and Scott exhaust system from head to exit complete with a re-packable silencer takes care of the waste gasses and a full synchromesh gearbox, twin 7.25 inch clutch with aluminium full flow radiator are also incorporated.

Fully adjustable front and rear roll-bars make up the suspension with all the bushes replaced with phosphor bronze bushes, adjustable bump and rebound stops are fitted complete with wide track rear suspension. Front spot lights have also been fitted into the nose of the bonnet and the glass has been replaced with Perspex. It is built on a steel monocoque with Rob Beere suspension and Spax dampers and in 2006, this actual car completed in the Le Mans Classic, Nurburgring Marathon and the Spa 6 hours race. With seatbelts dated until 2015, it is primed and ready to race.

Eligible for Masters, HSCC, as well as a plethora of other historic racing, including Nurburgring Oldtimer, Spa 6 Hours and Le Mans Classic 2012, this Jaguar really is extremely versatile. Supplied with a V5 registration document, FIA papers, a history file containing invoices for the work carried out and a freshly rebuilt engine at zero miles built to FIA Period F regulations, the hard work has certainly been done; all that is required is a pilot for the 2012 season..

For sale at AGUTTES auction, Paris 23 june 2019 :

    Auction description :

    1962 – Jaguar Type E 3.8 FHC Compétition

    Châssis n°887157

    Carte grise française

    Moteur : 6 cylindres en ligne – 3781 cc – environ 320 chevaux

    - Eligible aux compétitions historiques

    - Estimation attractive
