Car to be at auction 3/18
www.coys.co.uk/cars/1964-jaguar-e-type-series-1-3-8-roadster-3

Auction description:
ESTIMATE €145,000- €160,000
Auction Techno Classica Essen 2018
Lot Number 108
Reg. Number German Registered
Chassis Number 881724
Year 1964
Make Jaguar
Model E-Type Series 1 3.8 Roadster

This beautiful example is one of the last 3.8 litre examples produced before jaguar moved to the less desirable 4.2 engines. The later 3.8 examples received a number of revisions and this particular car now has the later gearbox, longer rear axle and movable seats.

In recent years this car has undergone a comprehensive restoration brining it to the wonderful condition that it is in today. Invoices for all of the mechanical and cosmetic work can be found in the cars history file, alongside a Classic Data inspection and valuation report.

Having been given an excellent 2+ rating and a valuation of €175,000 by Classic Data speaks volumes to the lengths that this cars previous custodians have gone in maintaining the cars originality, and the energy given to bring this car back to its former glory.

For sale at Pyritz Classics of Frankfurt am Main for 159,000 euros. Amended seller's description below.

The early models, like this Series 1 with the 3.8 litre engine, are particularly interesting today. The car has been restored to a high standard, retainng its original Cream colour. Andrea Pininfarina said of the colour ' Only cars with a coherent cocept and do not need the play of light on concave and convex surfaces can afford this colour'. The natural look leather interior and matching soft top round off this picture.

It comes with a Jaguar Heritage certificate, confirming its colour is original and the engine is matching numbers. The Classic Data report confirms it is condition grade 2+. The motto of Sir William Lyons 'Grace, Pace and Value for Money' applies to this car.

Vehicle identification number 881724

Condition category Restored

Mileage (odometer) 6,280 km

Engine number RA7218-9

Matching Numbers Yes
