From notes of J. Walker: Hood was black, still has original interior leather.

At auction online:

bringatrailer.com/listing/1964-jaguar-xke-roadster-2/

This 1964 Jaguar XKE Roadster was sold new in France on June 30, 1964 and was later brought to the US. The previous owner lived in Boston, Massachusetts, and the seller acquired it from him 19 years ago. This example has been repainted Imperial Maroon and is said to retain its numbers-matching 3.8-liter straight-six engine, which was reportedly rebuilt in 1990. It is backed by a non-original 4-speed synchromesh gearbox that was rebuilt in 1998. Approximately 7k miles have been added since, and this XKE is now being offered with records back to the 1990s, the factory service book and owner's manual, an aftermarket tool kit, a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, show awards, and a clean New Jersey title in the seller's name.
Service records date back to the early 1990s when the car was with its prior owner.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
