Ebay item 4/24/23
Current bid: $11,700 reserve not met 30 bids, 7 days left in auction, seller dusty356a, 62k miles, Pleasanton, California
Seller's description:
1964 Jaguar Etype 3.8 Liter OTS Roadster: Retains its original engine, cylinder-head and gearbox; no accidents; excellent body gaps; stored on an Arkansas farm not driven in nearly 50 years; low original miles; rare Opalescent Sand Gold/light-tan interior. Most early etype models are missing one major component or another, but this one has sat untouched since 1972 or so. It is a time-capsule. Floors were worked on but the doors still shut nicely, and the bonnet sinches up perfectly. Once an Etype has been in a collision fixing it is like putting toothpaste back in the tube, messy! This one is factory-straight, making it a candidate for a 100-point restoration and hopefully that is what it will receive.

An exciting restoration project for the Jaguar enthusiast
Retains its matching-numbers chassis, engine, and body
Delivered new to New York wearing Opalescent Golden Sand paint over a Light Tan interior—a desirable colour combination that could be revived during restoration
Accompanied by a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate issued in 2023
Upon leaving Jaguar’s Browns Lane factory on 30 October 1963—as documented by this car’s accompanying Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust (JDHT) certificate—the E-Type offered here was finished with Opalescent Golden Sand paintwork over a Light Tan interior, complemented by a French Grey cabriolet hood. The Jaguar was configured in left-hand drive with a manual gearbox and bound for the United States. It was imported to New York by Jaguar Cars and is believed to have been laid up, unused in storage on a farm in Arkansas from the early 1970s until its date of export in March 2023.
Returning to the United Kingdom in project form, the E-Type now presents as an enticing restoration proposition. The car has been refinished at some point in its current hue, which is now worn and requiring a repaint. Its next owner might be tempted to return the Jaguar to its factory-correct shade of Opalescent Golden Sand. While the Roadster retains its matching-numbers components including chassis, engine, and body, while also wearing charming period features including a wood-rimmed steering wheel (requiring refinishing) and knock-off wire wheels, the E-Type requires total restoration. It is accompanied by various spares including chromewear, interior trim, cabriolet hood parts, and more.
€21,850 EUR Sold
