37K miles. I drive this car appx 100 miles per year, love to just look at it, also to maintain its original condition. I have the original bill of sale, letter of confirmation from Jaguar of Coventry to original owner noting when he could pick the car up at the factory for a drive through parts of Europe before shipping to the US. RARE STUFF! CAR NOT FOR SALE

Tedd, sounds like a great car. Post a photo or two if you get a chance!

While I dont want to be critical surely driving an E-Type only a 100 miles a year is carrying things to extreme! These cars are not heirlooms or jewels to be handed down in immaculate condition to posterity. They are there to be driven!

Vehicle is still completely original {other than tires, belts, hoses, etc}. Paint, leather are VG example of 50 years of TLC. I have orig bill of sale, overseas insurance policy, letter from Coventry to orig owner confirming build & delivery date, original service vouchers, orig temp british registration plate, Heritage Certicate confirming originality, and much more.

I acquired my E type in 1987. Except for the obvious tires, battery, etc., the car is 99.9% original. Paint, chrome, glass, leather, wheels, driveline, all original. I have extensive documentation from when it was new including recent Heritage Trust Certificate which shows all info to be correct. I drive it every summer and have had very little mechanical or electrical problems. I"m proud to own this classic.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
