We are always looking for exceptional classic cars from any manufacturer but it is always very pleasing to get an 'E' type that is superb as they are still one of the definitive classic cars.
Upon inspection of this original English 1964 Jaguar 'E' type 3.8 fixed head coupe the underside was extremely good and exceptionally clean. We were informed by the vendor that it had recently had the full back end assembly rebuilt as well as the rear hub bearings replaced, new discs, new sports shock absorbers, a 'Jack Knight' steering rack, new 'Coopercraft' front brakes, reconditioned rear calipers, the headlamps converted to halogen ones and the installation of a desirable four speed all synchromesh gearbox.
We are informed that it is a beautiful car to drive being very tight and rattle free and it maintains a good oil pressure, having had a complete engine rebuild, and is a first time starter. It is painted in Golden Sand with the original Red leather trim, which is in very good order with only a little wear to the drivers seat edge, and it comes with a current M.O.T. certificate until November of this year.
The car is being sold today with the valuable registration number 997 HLY, the original 'E' type ashtray which is still in place and the mileage of 84000 miles which is believed to be correct.
All in all an exceptional car, which was owned by one of the 'Grumbleweeds' in 1988 and was one of the very last to be built with the better 3800cc engine. It is raring to go for the new owner this summer.
