Auction description:
Ascot Racecourse
March 7th 2020
1964 Jaguar E-Type Series I Fixedhead Coupé (3.8 litre)
Registration 395 KUE Chassis Number 361524 Engine Number 5824-9 Odometer reading 10,372 miles Estimate £78,000 - £88,000
This matching numbers example, presented in its original colour combination of Opalescent Blue with a grey leather interior rolled off the production line in 1964 and was sold new by Newsome Jaguar Dealer, Midlands, to its first owner Mr. Law of Coventry. In 2010, the E-Type was treated to much restoration work. A bare metal respray was completed and upgrades included a 3.8 litre lightened flywheel, balanced crank rods, a fully gas flowed head, new shock absorbers, a stainless-steel exhaust and XJS brakes. Presented in good order throughout the paintwork shows little sign of age and the engine bay is tidy. The interior also presents well and shows a light patina from occasional summer use. Offered with a UK V5C registration document, various sundry invoices and photographs detailing the bare metal respray. This example, in arguably the most desirable colour combination, is ready to be used by a new custodian.
