This is a stunning early 3.8 roadster which still has its lovely original registration number and the works hardtop. Shown above with the hard-top fitted it is a superb example and unlike a lot of cars it looks just as good with the hard-top fitted as it does with the hood down.
It is an original right hand drive British car which although largely original it has had a new hood and bag supplied and fitted by Aldridge Trimming. The present owner has converted the car to have an alternator and electric radiator fan to enhance its ability to be used in modern traffic but this would be easily converted back if the new owner wished to go for total originality.
A fabulous early 'E' type in stunning condition which will be thoroughly enjoyed by its new owner and must surely appreciate in value over the coming years.

My Father owned this car between 1976 and 1981 and at the time it had a fibreglass front end and the floors were made of old paint tins. We started to rebuild it before selling it as a collection of bits. I still have the original gearbox and it's diff now resides in my fixed head. Funny how it came to be described as original in 1996!

Hiya. I too remember the fiberglass front end. i still have the photo of you sat on the wing aged 17/18 :) How are the folks?; Well I hope, they were always kind to me. I'm not a million miles away from you now, just south of Cambs. How's 13 doing? you still got it? Say hello- it's been too long.

I bought this car from H 7 H in 1996. Gearbox is rubbish. Any chance of getting the original box back?

I sold the car recently that I put your original box in and could put you in touch with the owner. How do you contact people off line from this site without posting personal details?

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
