It has an aluminium radiator, Kenlowe cooling fan, uprated torsion bars, Harvey Bailey anti roll bars, Spax adjustable shock absorbers, improved rear springs, AP racing callipers, steel braided hoses, 6.5x15 ins stainless steel wire wheels with Pirelli tyres, aluminium louvred bonnet, aluminium doors and boot lid with extractor vent, genuine factory hard top, Monza style fuel cap, interior trimmed to factory specification and fitted with tubular roll cage and seat harnesses. There is a complete provenance file with operating, maintenance and service handbook, Jaguar Heritage certificate, Coventry Transport Museum certificate of authenticity, restoration invoices and a feature article on 309WK in Jaguar World magazine. This fastidiously restored potent E Type has covered just 5,000 miles since restoration.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
