Opening bid $5,000, no reserve, no bids yet, 6 days left in auction. This auction is based in Norwalk, Connecticut.

Sellers description:
72 xke coupe, v-12, automatic trans. completely original, matching #'s, except for replaced interior, good floors and trunk, very good underneath, only rust is on what appears to be a newer exhaust system. new complete biscuit interior, at a cost of over 5k, seats, rugs, etc. a little dirty in person, but will clean up nicely. good headliner. good glass, good wire wheels, some surface rust, but no deep pitting, and i think they will very good to excellent once cleaned. very straight body. faded paint, 64,400 miles, some rust/paint bubbles under left rear side window, hard to see ion pictures, but metal is solid. rust also under rear hatch, a larger spot of rust, but once again, metal is solid. hatch itself has rust on bottom seam, no holes, looks basically solid and useable to me. rear bumper is rusty and is not salvageable, but front looks like it should clean up o.k. turns over well, and started with starting fluid ( ether) but did not continue to run once the starting fluid was gone. while it was running, ( did it 3 times) there was no smoke for the short time it ran. emergency brake works, which is good, as the brake pedal goes to the floor. previous owner said there is a leak in a line, but did not verify.

Previous auction ended at $6,913 after 9 bids.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
