Lot #196241

This 1972 Jaguar E-Type Series III 2+2 was purchased as a restoration project by its previous owner, who sourced a replacement body shell, interior, chrome wire wheels and bumpers, and extra components. The project was ultimately not completed, and the car was acquired by the selling dealer in 2025. It retains a 5.3-liter V12 linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential, and the car has four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, 15” knock-off wire wheels, quadruple carburetors, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and air conditioning components. The car starts but will require further mechanical and cosmetic repairs. This Series III E-Type is now offered at no reserve with the owner’s manual, spare parts including a replacement body shell, and a clean Virginia title listing the car as a 1972 Jaguar.

The car has been partially disassembled, and there is corrosion throughout. Replacement bumpers and weather seals are included along with a spare hood.

The car retains 15″ wire-spoke wheels, power steering, and four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted rear rotors. A replacement set of wire wheels is included.

The interior has been stripped, though the dashboard and air conditioning components have been retained. A replacement interior set is included.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel is damaged, though a replacement is included. Smiths instrumentation has been retained, and the five-digit odometer shows 73k miles.

The 5.3-liter V12 was factory equipped with quadruple Zenith-Stromberg carburetors. The selling dealer was able to get the car started in 2025, with a video provided below.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.

The sale includes an extra body shell with no serial number attached.

The interior list of included items is displayed above with items portrayed in the gallery.

The silver car retains its chassis tag.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
