Sellers description:
This the first year of the Jaguar V-12's and the year the final refinements on this model were introduced. Purchased from a Chicago collector who spent over $22,000 on its partial restoration. The engine, transmission and entire driveline were rebuilt by factory technicians.
It has new Coker tires and new Dayton true-spoke wheels. The headliner and the front seats were replaced with factory leather. The rest of the interior is original and in very good condition. All receipts are available.
The car only has 5,000 since its restoration and the odometer was reset at the time of rebuild, so the actual mileage of this 30+ year old car is unknown.
The present owner had the body stripped down to the metal and coated with magnesium to prevent any corrosion. It was then painted with a show quality black paint job with a little gold sparkle added. In the bright sunlight, the color really pops out at you, while in the shade it appears to be just a very glossy black. This is one of the best V-12 coupes available, and unlike the roadsters which are so highly priced you can't drive and enjoy them, it can be driven daily for its owner's pleasure.
It really needs nothing and can only appreciate, like all early Jaguars. It is the more rare and valuable because of its V-12 drivetrain and factory air conditioning.
