Ebay item 6/16/05
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Current bid $6,600.00 (Reserve not met), 7 bids, 6 days left in auction. Manual trans.

Sellers description:
I am the third owner. It was owned previously by a college professor in the area who had it shipped over from England. I purchased this is in July of 1998. The car has been garaged it's whole life. The mileage is original at 88,831.

This car runs but does need work to bring it up to a daily driver. This car was serviced by the local and very reputable Welsh Foreign repair after it was purchased in 1998. It was inspected and I drove it home from their. I have stored it since then, starting and running it every so often. The carbs were adjusted and the engine tuned with new plugs and wires. The exhaust, radiator and gas tank were all repaired/replaced. Mechanically this is in pretty good shape, very workable. This does have fadtory air, and is made by Frigidaire and works very well.

The entire exterior was completely redone by the previous owner. It was repainted at some point, but could use a new paint job. The body is in excellent shape. The panels are all straight and in great shape. The doors need new rubber and the interior needs things like a new headliner, carpeting, reupholstery (the leather is ok but the foam has gave in) and light bulbs, things like that.

Here is the clincher. This car has a super rare, factory installed power sunroof. It is said that this was the xj6 sunroof, and could be, it's big. It works perfectly. The switch for it looks rigged but it came out of the factory with a simple toggle on the edge of the dash.

I realize that initially there are no photos of the dash and engine, but I will correct that. If you do not see them by Friday, send a note. This has all chrome, knock off hub spoke wheels, which are in very nice shape. The chrome is in bright order all the way around but does show occasional pitting. This does not have a factory radio but rather a later add in.

A gorgeous car, which needs a little shove to get it back into the main stream. If you are looking for classic V12 Jag to bring up to speed as a daily driver knock around, or want to go the full distance to showcase this rarity with a sunroof, this particular car is highly recommended. I did the initial investment of close to 4,000 which I have in receipts....and included many minor details to bring it up to mechanical order.....I can't get around like I used to, to finish it up, so this is someone's lucky find. I have a reasonable reserve which was suggested by a gentleman who deals in classic Jaguars.

Please send any questions at all. This car is located about a half an hour west of albany, NY I would not drive it on the road until it has been thoroughly checked out and inspected.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
