Sellers description:
This is truly a "Barn Find" 44,000 mile 1972 Jaguar XKE. It is a 2+2 Coupe with automatic. I found this car over 20 years literally in a barn in southern Arkansas. The car was last driven in 1979! I bought it with the intent of restoring it but have come to realize that I have more projects than time. I pulled the carbs off of it along with the master cylinder in hopes of getting it running but never got around to doing it. I do not have pictures of the carbs, but I do have all the carbs, manifolds and linkages that will go along with the car. I took the bonnet off of the car to get to things easier, it is perfect. This car is about as rust free as you will find in a Jaguar. The only rust is under the battery tray and it is only a small spot, the trunk, rear floor where the trailing arms mount and all the other usual spots are all truly rust free. I have many other old British cars so I know how unusual this car is. I promise you will not be dissapointed. As far as the rest of the car, the interior is ok, it could probably clean up, no tears at least. The dash is nice. It has 5 really nice spoke wheels that still look new. The bumpers are in nice shape as well and unless you intend to show the car could be made presentable with a little polish. The body is perfect, no signs of any damage at all anywhere, it has an amatuer paint job that was actually done in the barn where I found the car but the car is perfectly straight, no dents or dings! All in all this car could possibly be made road worthy with just a little work (brakes & carbs) or more likely would be an excellent start for a restoration, this really is the "rust free" Jaguar that everyone is looking for!
