Ebay item 9/1/04
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Current bid $1,997.00 (Reserve not met), 3 bids, 4 days left in auction, buy it now price $35k.
Sellers description:
The red Jaguar is a 1972 E-Type V12 Roadster. It is an automatic. The convertible top is new. The leather seats are not original but are and exact replica of the original. The interior is light tan including the carpets which are new. The car is painted Sebring Red and is enamel. The windshield is new. The wire wheels are chrome and are in good to very good condition . The radio has been replaced by a more modern unit. The only problems of which I am aware with the car are that the manual choke does not stay out on its own, the "brushes" which cover the automatic transmission shifter are missing and there are one or two marks on the paint which generally is very good. The car has a chrome luggage rack which is in excellent condition. The car is also missing the correct lever end to adjust the rake of the driver"s side seatback and when the seats were recovered the seat belt guides were not replaced on the back of the seats. I am not certain if the oil pressure guage reads accurately [I believe the sending unit may be workin only some of the times]. The master and slave cylinders have both been recently replaced and the brake pads are nearly brand new. The radiator was replaced approximately four years ago and should be as new. We adapted a more modern voltage regulator to the car to correct a slight malfunction in the original. I do not know what the condition the air conditioning system is in at the time but the heater works fine.
As you know we have additional parts including very hard to find hardtop for the E-type. The hardtop has not been painted to match the new color of the car.

51,569 MILES, ON EBAY 12/26/08, DEALER WRITES: This is a Beautiful 1972 Jaguar XKE Series III Roadster Convertible V-12 5.3L
It has 4 Zenith Stromberg Carbs that tend to leak as they might need re-gasketed or
tightened as most do. It has a 3 speed Automatic - Borg Warner Model 12 Transmission
that shifts fine. It has 4 wheel Disc Brakes with Servo Assist.
This car was originally Brown but had a complete Paint Job approximately 20 years ago
by it's second owner. As you can see the car is still very Sharp and in Great Condition
with 51,569 original Miles. Approximately 10,000 of which were put on in the last 24 years.
With this Beautiful Convertible comes a HardTop that sill remains in the original color,
have it painted to match and add another dimension to this Super Sharp Sports Car.
I am a Used Car Dealer of 20 years in Pennsylvania and I purchased this car from a longtime
friend. So I know it has been well kept in a heated garage for the last 24 years. Prior to
that it came up from the South.
