    Registration No SPH99M
    Engine No 7S10977SA
    Chassis No 1S1767BW
    MOT April 2010
    Colour White

    Details
Here we have a 1973 Roadster, which has been in the vendors ownership for 20 years, during which time he has covered just 7000 miles. It is described as being in very good condition and is offered complete with all bills and invoices, for works done, during his ownership. The most recent works involved replacing all the brake calipers and pads, at a cost of £1700.

Finished in white with black leather, the car has the 5.3 litre, all alloy, V12 engine, which is mated to a three speed Borg Warner transmission. It sits on pressed steel, chromed wheels, which were the standard factory option, has a new hood (which has never been erected) and is said to drive very well indeed.

The S3 E-Type offers turbine-like performance, silky smooth power and those gorgeous lines, at a very attractive price.

    Estimate £28000-32000

For sale at Silverstone Auction 22 February 2014

    www.silverstoneauctions.com/1973-jaguar-e-type-series-iii-v12-convertible-ii

    Registration: SPH 99M
    Chassis Number: 1S1767BW
    Engine Number: 7S10977SA
    Number of cylinders: 12
    CC: 5295cc
    Year of Manufacture: 1973
    Estimate (£): 52,000 - 58,000

The Series III incarnation with automatic gearbox offered here today looks really impressive in original factory White coachwork and contrasting Black leather interior in exemplary order having been replaced with new leather and headrests in May 2010.

It was purchased by our vendor at this time having been introduced to the car by Classic Coachbuilders of Sittingbourne, Kent. This matching-number example is an original righthand drive car supplied in the UK to its first owner through the Tourist Trophy Garages, Farnham. This site is steeped in Mike Hawthorn history and is now the home of respected restorers, Spellbound Cars. This car in particular appealed to our vendor because it had been respectfully cared for and lavishly spent upon in the past, giving him confidence in the car's quality.

Chassis #1S1767BW was the subject of a thorough restoration from April to December 1986. At this time, the automatic gearbox was replaced and the mileage, then showing c54,000miles was zeroed. Since this period it has covered fewer than 17,500 miles with MoT's from 1988 to support these mileage claims, and receiving regular maintenance and consistent mechanical and cosmetic enhancement throughout these miles. Lightly used by our vendor - and never in the wet or when there may be salt on the roads - this truly is a car that one would be very proud to own. There are small areas where the paint could be bettered, but only one unfortunate place on the bonnet where it is actually cracked, however, the overall appearance of the car is very good. The interior has been completed to a very high standard, and the hood and tonneau which were replaced in May 2010 provide a snug fit and are again exceptional. The car boasts wire wheels all-round which were new in July 2010, shod with god quality tyres with many more miles left in them. Maintained since the 1990's almost exclusively by Classic Coachbuilders, and more recently, The Hutson Motor Company of Bradford, there is a generous history file with the car documenting receipts and invoices for work completed, plus correspondence between past owners.

Offered with UK V5C Registration and an MoT test certificate to May 2014, we anticipate great interest in this handsome and stylish roadster which is not without just cause...

For sale at Minchin's Garage of Chichester for £100,000. Seller's description below.
    www.minchinsofgoodwood.co.uk/used-cars/jaguar-e-type-chichester-201711010857232

A correct RHD UK home market Jaguar V12 Automatic. Built in 1973 and supplied new by the Tourist Trophy Garage in Farnham Surrey. All confirmed by the Jaguar Heritage production record certificate. Finished in White with Black leather interior. A full and complete restoration was carried out in 1986, the mileage recorded at that point was 54,000. A new speedo head was fitted at the point of restoration and due to little use the car covered only 13,000 miles to 2006 and only a further 4,600 miles in the last 11 years. Onward and continuing maintenance with more recent restoration work was carried out by Classic Coachbuilders of Kent and the Hutson Motor Company of Bradford in 2010/2011. Detailed invoices here in the lovely history file show expenditure in excess of £13,000.

The current owner at point of purchase in June 2015, only 400 miles ago had a full and comprehensive service and inspection with over £3,000 costs in ensuring this superb E Type was in perfect mechanical order. A year on in June 2016, Super Ventura of Sunningdale carried out an annual service, the car having covered only 100 miles since. A faultless advice free MoT now runs to August 2018. Suffice to say this Jaguar has been both cherished and maintained to an absolutely exceptional level, sure to delight its next lucky owner. The extremely high standards of early and later restoration work is shown by the condition both of the beautiful rust free bodywork, chrome work and all interior leather, trim and an engine bay to be proud of at any classic show. There is nothing further to do. The drive of this V12 is an experience on its own and it is one of the most beautiful cars in the world to own and drive.

    Car returns to auction 5/24

    1973 Jaguar E-Type Series 3 V12 Roadster

    Registration Number SPH 99M

    Engine Number 7S10977SA

    Transmission Auto

    Body Colour Old English White

Benefitting from an older restoration, this well presented V12 Roadster is eminently usable.

Supplied new by the famous Tourist Trophy Garage in Farnham, once steeped in Mike Hawthorn folklore, this lovely V12 E-Type was first registered to Weldsparrs of Alton Hampshire as listed on its Heritage Certificate. Still in its original factory specification and showing around 54,000 miles, it was subject to a full restoration between April and December 1986.

Much of the servicing and maintenance in the 1990s was carried out by Classic Coachbuilders and in 2010 it benefitted from a replacement hood and tonneau-cover together with new wire wheels. The history file contains various invoices from this time detailing work carried out by the Hutson Motor Company of Bradford.

The E-Type has been in our vendor's family ownership from 2015 and the last MOT was carried out in 2017 with work that included new power steering pipes. It was serviced by Super Vettura of Sunningdale twice before being virtually laid up in the family garage ever since.

On the button and ready for a new chapter, this lovely V12 has stood the test of time from its earlier restoration, now some 18,000 miles on and has a very comfortable look in a world of over-restored, unusable examples.
