Additional description from above auction:
An even more torquey 5343cc 272bhp V12 engine first appeared under the bonnet of the Series 3 E-Type Jaguar from 1971. Most importantly for the Midlands car maker, Jaguar's twelve was fully compliant with emission regs on both sides of the Atlantic.
Former owner of this 1973-built S3 E, Raymond Seal from Yorkshire, has advised us that he acquired the right-hand drive roadster directly from disc jockey and TV celebrity Jimmy Saville. In recent years, however, the classic V12 has been resident in a major collection in the North West and, as confirmed by old MOTs and service records, the mileage would seem only to have risen by some 1000 miles in the last thirteen years.
Finished in red, described as reasonably bright, with good black leather, at some stage replaced, and a mohair hood, also renewed not that long ago, this fine example sits on chrome wires and is fitted with labour saving Borg Warner automatic transmission, which reportedly is in good order. According to the vendor, the body panels would seem to be generally sound and straight, and the brightwork good, although, as one might expect for a car of 1973 vintage, the underbonnet area would benefit from some detailing. The car has a stereo system and a hood cover.
The odometer read just 33,718 miles when entered for the sale and, although this mileage reading cannot be warranted by the vendor, he believes it to be the genuine total for the car from new. The considerable pulling power of an open V12 E-Type like this, however, is guaranteed.
PLEASE NOTE: The gear lever is stiff on this vehicle.

Spotted this car yesterday, 18th Sept 2011. Nostell Steam Rally. What a stunner. Seams that the current owner is looking to sell, judging from the note on the windscreen.

*Known ownership history
*In a private collection 1986-2005
*Present ownership since 2012
First registered in 1973, 'FWW 577L' has traceable ownership history from new and has remained in the UK throughout its life with only four owners in total. From 1986 to 2005 the Jaguar formed part of a major private collection in the Northwest of England; owned by the vendor since 2012, it has been kept in mint condition, covering minimal mileage annually. Finished in red with black leather interior, 'FWW 577L' is said to be in good to condition throughout and is offered with a large file of sundry bills, an old-style logbook, and current MoT.
