Ebay item 6/24/05
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Current bid $10,000.00 (Reserve not met), 1 bid, 9 days left in auction. Buy it now price $29,900. 39k miles.
Sellers description:
This is your opportunity to finish the restoration and make some money on this vehicle. This vehicle is in the Jaguar Registry and won the Most Popular award on the Ford Motor Company Employee on line car show.
The numbers match because the engine, trans, differential and body are original. The engine was overhauled in chassis in 1978 and the spedometer purportedly replaced at that time. I have not put 150 miles on it in the last 10 years (purchased April 1995)and the previous owner (Maryland) owned it for 15 years(purchased June 1980) and kept a meticulous log of items replaced. I also have many Repair orders from previous owners, but do not have the original owner. You get all the paperwork, including shop manual, Owner's Manual, pictures of the bare metal paint restoration.
I am tired of tinkering with British sports cars. I have restored Triumphs for over thirty years and I have personnally owned (since 1996) and overseen the restoration of this vehicle to include: stripping seven colors of paint to bare metal and professionsal repaint using Jaguar XK-8 "Meteorite", purchase of over $3500 new 'English' chrome, new underlayment kit, new carpet (red) kit, completely "gone over" by a Jaguar technician (Virginia), installed a non-leaking spin on oil filter, new fuel system (including updated new SU pump, lines, filters....among other things. I have a lot of parts for this car, but I am frustrated and tired of restoration work, so if you are up for a relatively minor challenge and have the desire to finish this car, you CAN make some fair return on investment.
The vehicle was apart and I had the original underhood heater components, the original air breather assembly and one of the electric fans/bracket assembly in my storage trailer. The trailer was stolen and the parts with it. I have bought many parts on ebay (like a MOMO steering wheel, but the original is good) and the selling price will determine what "spares" go with it.
The vehicle starts and runs, but is NOT driveable. The carbs require overhauling (part of the restoration challenge) The tires are not original size and two are ok and two are bad. There is a spare with good tread, mounted on a wire wheel. The trunk board is available.

1969 Jaguar XKE 4.2, I have 2 notebooks of records going back to the 70's
Engine runs great and will never leave you stranded, Let me say again This car runs very nice and will never let you down, engine rebuilt 30,000 miles ago.
Very nice silver paint, just in show, and yes this is the car in the poster
New Dayton 15x6 wire wheels and new tires
Custom exhaust Sounds like a racing Jaguar
Brand new steering wheel, I would drive daily, not a perfect car, but will win local shows, draws a crowd daily, and best of all 100% of you friends will think it is worth $150,000, everyone will ask if it is the same car as on Barret-Jackson
I am not a dealer, some of the pics are from a car show 2 weeks ago, this is my personal car.
