Fixed Head Coup, 4.2 Litre, Straight 6 (last year these were produced), Dual Carburetors, New A/C, Cassette Radio, Original Custom Color - Porsche Bahama Yellow, Leather Interior, Some Maintenance Records Available.

Purchased from HR Owens on Sloane St., London, England, 1970 and imported by original owner. Car was originally built for a Texan that never took possession. This model year was never imported into the US. There is a rebuilt car of this year and type in the Museum of Modern Art, NY.

Original owner selling due to the fact that at 74, the car can no longer attract the opposite gender (as the field is growing thin...)

Current bid $1,000 reserve not met, 1 bid, 6 days left in auction. Car now said to be in Fayetteville, Georgia.

    Sellers description:
1970 (RARE) Jaguar XKE Series 2 Coupe 1-Owner bought brand new in July 21, 1970 Special Order: Porsche Bahama Yellow / Black Leather Interior. This is a very rare and sought after 1970 Jaguar XKE Series 2 Coupe 1-Owner - Porsche Bahama Yellow / Black Leather Interior. This is a factory special order Porsche Bahama Yellow. The car was bought on July 21, 1970 at HR Owen Sloane Street London, England UK. The car was order by a doctor and never picked up and the dealership was stuck with this yellow XKE until the Original owner purchased the car. I have the original new registration. I bought the car from the original owner and I have all the records, service manuals everything since day 1. The paint on the car has been replayed in 1989. On a scale from 1-10 it is an 8.0. There are some minor imperfections and dings on the body (see picture). The interior is like new and is in very good condition. The car runs and drives out perfect and has no issues in that respect. I have driven over 500 miles in the car at speeds 80-100MPH. The car only flaw is the weather stripping around some of the windows and bumpers are starting to crack because of their age. No big deal to fix. The car has lived its whole life in Texas and has no rust. The car has no signs of any accident history and all the gaps line up perfect and the entire doors shut perfect. The Series 2 are on the way up in terms of investment because all the series 1 the most sought after are drying up and are hard to find. The car is 100% Original and has not been restored. The car ID# is as follows: Serial No: 1R 28150 The car has a Clear Clean Texas Title. (Good for Export). This car is a great example of a very nice original driver. Original Registration Original steering wheel Original Wheels All Keys / Original Wheel Spare/ Tool Kit /Knock off hammer All Service Records.

I bought this car off eBay. I am happy with the condition. There are some areas that need attention. That is why I bought it. To work on and drive. First thing to fail - fuel pump.

    Keep smoling,

So, I've replaced several areas of rust and poor quality prior repairs. Yep, learned to weld. Engine was trash. Appeared to be re ringed without removing the cylinder ridge as 5 of the pistons were cracked. I've rebuilt the engine and transmission. Brindled counter shaft and I fabricated the thrust washer for end play. Man, there are a lot of needle bearings in the trans. Just brought the body shell home from the painter. Not a screw, bolt, nor rivet on it. Now it is time to begin moving parts for the shelves to the car. I'll be busy for a while.

    Cheers

That's from the shelves, not for the shelves.
