This 1969 Jaguar XKE is a Series II coupe that was initially delivered through British Leyland in New York and is said to have resided in Wisconsin for four decades before being acquired by the current owner in 2018. It is finished in black over black leather and powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Further equipment includes Series I-style covered headlights, 15″ wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, a push-button AM/FM radio, and console-mounted speakers. The most recent service in December 2021 involved performing an oil change along with replacing the battery and spark plugs. This XKE is now offered at no reserve on dealer consignment in New York with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, a Jaguar club handbook, service records, and a duplicate Minnesota title.
The car was finished from the factory in black and records indicate that the body was repainted after the rocker panels were replaced in 1982. Series I-style covered headlights are said to have been added as part of a refurbishment undertaken in the 1980s. Exterior details include wraparound chrome bumpers as well as a louvered clamshell hood, a left-side mirror, and dual polished exhaust outlets. A section of the letter “G” is missing on the rear badge, and paint chips and touch-up spots are visible.
Chrome 15″ wire wheels are mounted with 185-series Universal Sport thin whitewall tires. The car rides on aftermarket shocks, and braking is handled by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear units.
The bucket seats are trimmed in black leather and accompanied by a color-coordinated dashboard, rear cargo area, door panels, and carpets. Appointments include a locking glovebox, a central armrest, a push-button AM/FM radio, console-mounted speakers, and Jaguar-branded rubber mats. Wear is noted on the seat leather.
The three-spoke steering wheel wears a stitched-on cover and fronts Smiths instrumentation consisting of a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline accompanied by a 160-mph speedometer as well as a centrally mounted clock and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 39k miles, and true mileage is unknown.
The 4.2L inline-six is equipped with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, and the radiator is fitted with dual electric puller fans. The water pump and drive belt were replaced in July 2020, and service in December 2021 involved performing an oil change along with replacing the battery and spark plugs. Oil leaks are present.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. The exhaust system has been modified, and corrosion is visible on the front cross member as well as various underbody components.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace Certificate shows a build date of February 11, 1969, along with factory colors and identification numbers.
There is currently a lien on the car, and the seller’s lender will need to be paid off before the title can be transferred to the next owner. The Minnesota title is listed as a duplicate.
