I owned this car from August 1985 until it was wrecked in July 2005. In 1988-89, I re-bodied it as a roadster (swapped the tub) and had title changed to show it as a convertible. I put approx 105,000 miles on the car in the nearly 20 years that I drove it. It was a very reliable automobile. I survived a 60 mph frontal collision in this car- don't let anyone tell you that an E-Type is not well-built! The other driver, who had come across the median in his Jeep Cherokee, died as a result of injuries sustained in the accident. I bought another E-Type roadster as soon as I had recovered. I love the E-Type. I sold the drivetrain to a guy who wanted to convert his '68 roadster back from a Ford (ptui!) V-8, so the heart of the car lives on.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
