Ebay item 7/7/15
www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-E-Type-/252018792251
Opening bid US $18,000, no reserve no bids 6 days left in auction. 76k miles.
Sellers description:
My dad purchased this XKE in 1983 and resored it in '85. I left it in the care of some very competent individuals who managed to drop a valve in the No 1 cylinder causing damage to that piston and scarred the cylinder head. These geniuses then left the car outside with the spark plugs removed corroding the cylinders. It has been in dry storage since 2003. SO, this car needs a complete rebuild. As seen in the pictures the floor boards, inner sills, kick panels, etc have significant corrosion. The subframes do have some crinkling from an apparent front impact which occured before dad purchased it as they were concieled with bondo and paint. The trunk tub and the outter panels are very solid. I do believe it is a matching numbers car but have not researched. My intentions were to restore the car myself and as is not uncommon have discovered it to be a bit too much for me.
