Sellers comment:
Offered for your consideration is a ground up restored 1970 Jaguar. XKE. Series II. Finished in stunning British Racing Green and trimmed with tan hides and black Everlast top and boot, this ā€œEā€ type is ready to thrill and impress. The restoration on this rust free 60,000 mile example, performed over a 9 year period, was a labor of love and the effort shows. Everything on the car has either been rebuilt or replaced, including 6 Koni shocks, drive train mechanicals, suspension, brake hydraulics, chrome, soft goods . . .etc.. Combining the comfort and sophistication of the Series II with the power and reliability of the early Series I, this ā€œEā€, with its 4.2 liter engine and 4 speed full syncromesh transmission, was retrofitted with the triple SU carburetors and tuned accordingly. Also fitted was the early, quick steering rack and pinion assembly. The fit and finish on the body and associated parts is excellent. The car is well sorted and everything functions as it should. The car has logged less than 3000 miles since its debut and has participated in 2 long distance rallies, going the distance with no problems. If you are considering an E type roadster, one that runs and drives as new
This car is in excellent condition and literally drives as good as it looks. It doesn't leak oil and it doesn't overheat. It will function well as an occassional driver or an everyday special interest vehicle

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
