Opening bid $40,000 reserve not met, no bids yet 6 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
Presented is a 1969, Series II, E-type Jaguar complete with numbers matching drive train (except for rear differential as detailed below) finished in a gorgeous British racing green and biscuit leather interior. Odometer shows 66,801 miles, which is believed to be correct. Over the course of the last 5 years, the car has received significant mechanical and body restoration, including:
Complete professional engine overhaul (original pistons, rods and crank were retained), including rebuild of the head and timing assembly. Installed Petronix ignition, new water pump, new alternator, clutch and t/o bearing and new porcelain coated exhaust manifolds, with stainless exhaust. Replaced twin Stromberg carbs with triple SU set up from a '66 Series one. All carbs were reconditioned and perform flawlessly. Car starts with just a bump of the starter.
During engine rebuild, the entire sub-frame was removed along with all sub-assemblies, for painting. All sub-assemblies were replaced or overhauled, including master cylinders, vac-booster, heater core, wiper motor, radiator cooling fans, wiring and cooling hoses. Installed all new rubber grommets, brackets, heat shields, body seals. All fasteners and retainers were replaced with stainless steel.
Front suspension overhaul included new poly-bushings, shocks, ball joints, wheel bearings and re-build of the steering rack, brake calipers and new discs.
New tires
Interior has new carpets and leather, new cushions, custom burled walnut gauge bezel and matching shifter knob. Also install heat shield under the carpets, which greatly reduces noise and heat.
Overhaul of rear suspension included the installation of a rebuilt 2.88 rear differential, which greatly improves drivability at highway speeds. Utilizing this ratio dropped RPM by around 800 at 70 MPH. Also installed new shocks, U-joints, wheel bearings, lower control arm bearings, brake calipers and discs and poly grommets. Final detail included powder-coating of rear diff assembly, half shafts and control arms. Also stripped and re-painted the entire bottom of the car to match body color, replaced all heat shields, muffler hangers, fasteners, retainer clips, fuel and brake lines.
All body chrome and many interior pieces were re-plated last year. Also replaced numerous body seals and grommets.
There would be no exaggeration in stating that this car runs and drives flawlessly. Everything works as it should; including the Smith's clock that keeps perfect time. This Jaguar clearly shows the care and pride of its owner, and an attention to detail and authenticity.
