Current bid$13,600.00 (Reserve not met) 4 bids, 6 days left in auction.

Sellers comment:
You are looking at a gorgeous yellow 1970 Jaguar XKE Convertible with a black top. This car has 68,000 miles and is in good running order. The car has always been garaged and has magnificent wire wheels, however the tires could be replaced. The body, top, chrome, and interior are all in like new condition. You could not restore one like this for less than $50,000. This car was obtained from a private collector who was very meticulous about his cars.

Sellers description:
This is an exceptional looking car which I have owned for the past year and a half. In that time I have only put about 1000 miles on it, and it has never let me down. On a trip to San Diego a few months back I completed a round trip of 250 miles of mostly freeway driving with no problems. Even in the 85 - 90 degree heat in stop and go freeway traffic it did not overheat or give me any other trouble. This is a matching numbers car (I was told the gear box number matches, but I have not checked it and have no reason to think otherwise). I get compliments about the car wherever I go and although not a show car it is an excellent driver. I am selling it because with 3 kids I never get to use it and I need the space in the garage for a new new car.

The top is a new canvas unit and the tires are good It does not smoke or use any oil and the oil pressure is good. All the gages work as well as the lights and the clock works when it feels like it.. There are no electrical problems with this car other than the windshield wipers do not work. I have never tried to fix them as I never intended to take it out if it looked like rain anyway. It also has factory installed A/C which does not work

The Chrome is good and the paint is good with no crazing or cracks. There are a couple of tiny dings, but they were too small to show up. There is no rust in the trunk. I can find NO RUST on this car. Seats are great and the carpets are pretty new with no wear. Gears shift smoothly and the brakes and the hand brake work fine. Radio works, but the CD does not. The cam tappets/buckets rattle a little, but I have been told this is a $400 - $500 job if done by a Jag mechanic and should be easily rectified. It has been like it since I owned it and I just never got around to it.

I have replaced the following since I have owned it: Steering wheel (the old one was cracked), Brake master cylinder and booster, the fuse boxes behind the dash as they were intermittent, one of the rear light is new original Jag, Water pump and hoses, rebuild the accelerator box, replaced the voltage stabilizer, rebuilt the radiator fans, rebuilt the heater fan unit, rebuilt the fuel level sensor. I still have the old parts if required.

Other things I have done are: Flushed the cooling system. Flushed the fuel tank. Replaced all fluids (Brakes, Engine, Coolant Gear box & Rear diff).

This car has a clear title in my name

This car is ready to drive home and I will drive it to a shipper of your choice if required (50 mile radius of Anaheim CA)

I bought this car in 2006. It's now in Park City, Utah (as of Sept. 2008). Nice to see a little bit of history on it; going to do more research and see what else is out there about it. Still a fun car to drive around!

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
